Michelle Black

Michelle is a graphic designer and printmaker. As an urban designer in a previous life, Michelle has always had a passion for art and design. Fast-forward nine years and she commenced studies in graphic design to enhance her creative interests and abilities. Since 2004, Michelle has been self-employed as a freelance graphic designer, artist and mother. She has held a wide variety of local clients during this time, including a two year stint as an in-house designer. When Michelle moved to the Capricorn Coast, Queensland Australia in 2006, she commenced studies in Printmaking at TAFE. After completing seven short courses she found herself hooked and became an active foundation member of the Capricornia Printmakers Inc. She has worked on a variety of art projects, including large ephemeral public art installations in the Rockhampton Botanic Gardens in 2013 and at the Rockhampton River Festival in 2015 & 2016. Michelle has exhibited widely in group exhibitions in Rockhampton and the Capricorn Coast and has work held in the Rockhampton Art Gallery collection.
